Museo Miguel Hernández y Josefina Manresa

The bottom floor of the Rafael Zabaleta Museum building houses a big part of the legacy of Miguel Hernández, author of the “Andalusians of Jaén” poem. Its 553.85 m2 surface offers a tour of the work and life of the poet and his wife, que Quesada-born Josefina Manresa, a love story full of passion and emotions, and goes over the lifeofthepoet in 6 different rooms.

Salas:

The Welcoming area, which houses his main works and summarizes his life and work.
The “Perito en lunas” room, which goes over his infancy and youth
The “El Rayo que no cesa” room, about his relationship with Josefina Manresa, his partner and poetic muse.
The “Viento del pueblo” room, where the influence of the Spanish Civil War in his work in recreated. The famous poem “Aceituneros” (olive harvesters) was written in this era.
The “Cancionero y romancero de ausencias” room, dedicated to his prison years, exhibits famous verses such as “Nanas de la cebolla”(onion nursery rhymes).
The tour ends in the “El legado del poeta” room, a room for readings and workshops, where one can see the influence his work has had.
