In 2014 the Sierra Sur de Jaén was certified as a Starlight Reserve, the first in Andalusia. A certification that guarantees the existence of night skies with magnificent conditions for the observation of the firmament. Currently the region is part of the Astronomical Corridor of Jaén, a network of protected natural areas where a commitment to the defense of the quality of the night sky and access to starlight is established. In this sense, the Sierra de la Pandera is a fantastic place to enjoy the night sky and the Starlight Reserve.
